Eleven Eleven's 2021 Year in Review

As 2021 comes to a close, we’re looking forward to dreaming of bigger and better things in 2022, but not before we look back on our wins and learnings from this past year (and boy, were there a lot of wins!). So, grab a warm drink – or in true Eleven Eleven style, a glass of prosecco – and take a trip down memory lane with us as we answer 6 questions about the past year.

Alisha Adams, Founder of Eleven Eleven Talent Collective

What was the best thing I did to grow my career in 2021?

We started working with an Executive Coach, Goly Anvary this year together as Founders and also individually to play into our individual strengths and growth opportunities - the combination has been so empowering.

What was my favourite moment of 2021?

Bringing the most beautiful little soul into this world to join our family. Elle Adams has been the perfect addition and meeting her has been my favourite moment of the year.

What is the most important lesson I learned this year?

To let go. Let go of planning, perfection, predictability - having a newborn, a preschooler and a business means I have to let go of expectations of myself, and know that some moments will be amazing and others will be shit and to truly go easy on myself (isn't that an Adele song?! ;))

How did I live by my core values?

I use my core values as a barometer, it's a check in point for myself. If something is feeling off I think about what matters most to me, am I living into that? When things are amazing I try my best to pause and be proud of myself for putting my values first. It's incredible to see how these opposing emotions really play into your core values and if you are truly living them or not.

What energized, and what drained me this year?

Energized: My kids, my workouts, landing new values aligned clients, exceeding our business goals!

Drained: Over-scheduling myself.

Where do I want to be and how do I want to feel at the end of 2021?

At the end of 2021, our business will have doubled in size, we will have a thriving fulfilled team. As a family we will be living in our new home surrounded by those we love most and I want to feel CONNECTED - to my people and my community.

Tess Sloane, Founder of Eleven Eleven Talent Collective

What was the best thing I did to grow my career in 2021?

For me, I think it was taking the time to connect in person with clients, potential clients and candidates. Even when it was not clear if or how we would work together, I made it a priority to either meet in person or get on zoom to connect.

What was my favourite moment of 2021?

The first picture I received of Elle (Alisha and Rich’s new addition), the new love of our lives, and spending two full weeks off line in Mexico with my sons. It’s interesting that even though it was our most successful year in business to date, those are the two things that come to mind.

What is the most important lesson I learned this year?

That things can wait. Call it patience, divine timing or allowing. There is a point when you must stop pushing, striving, achieving and let the seeds you planted spring. This is contrary to everything we are taught and requires very little of us. So go have some fun and let life unfold.

How did I live by my core values?

I embraced stillness, solitude, and rest. I didn’t try to be everything to everyone, I found my voice in setting boundaries when I needed to and prioritized time with my family.

What energized, and what drained me this year?

I was given many opportunities to teach meditation + mindfulness in 2021. I left every session/workshop feeling alive and aligned. I felt energized in giving myself in this way, it feels like what I am meant to be doing.

What drained me? There were times when I took too much on in the business out of necessity and also an old narrative around scarcity - eg: if we don’t take this on there may not be another chance. It feels good to finally put that story to rest. There is enough, for us and for everyone.

Where do I want to be and how do I want to feel at the end of 2021?

At the end of 2021, I’ll be in Mexico for half the month and the last week I’ll be by the fire with my son’s. I hope to feel satisfied, content, rested, at ease and filled with love.

Thank you for joining us on the crazy beautiful journey that 2021 has been. Now, we encourage you to ask yourselves these questions and look back at the year you’ve had. We can’t wait to see what 2022 has in store and we’re so happy to have you all there beside us.

Cheers!
